Historically, the site of the hotel was formerly a pilgrim hotel Zum Roten Apfel, honoured in 1708 by Emperor Joseph I with the seal of imperial letter. The house was then purchased in 1931 by the Kremslehner family. It was burned down during Second World War and was reopened in 1960.
